Eating and drinking is central to the Inn. The kitchen is in the charge of Mark Bristow and overseen by Rosie Sykes (author of The Kitchen Revolution), providing locally sourced food, served simply. Using local suppliers from Stockings Farm in nearby Denham who breed rare Gloucester Old Spot, to Kingcup Farm who supply beautiful vegetables.
Our menu changes daily and we bake our bread on site. For elevenses and afternoon tea, home baked biscuits and cakes, proper coffee and for those 'in between times' our menu includes plates of jugged kipper with brown bread or fruit cake with Cashel Blue. Our all day menu is served from 7am – 10pm, the restaurant menu from noon – 3pm, then 6-10pm. Our 'back room' overlooking the cobbled courtyard can accommodate up to 40 and be hired for gathering and feasting. Crown visitors can enjoy home roasted spiced nuts or cheese straws at the bar with a pint of the local Rebellion ale, organic ginger beer and traditional lemonade or an eldeflower fizz.
(Please be aware the seasonal produce from handpicked suppliers dictate the constantly changing menus)
