EATING & DRINKING AMERSHAM
Eating at The Crown
Eating and drinking is central to The Crown, providing locally sourced food of fantastic quality, served simply. This seasonal produce from hand-picked suppliers dictates the constantly changing menus.
The restaurant is open for dinner Monday to Saturday as well as lunchtimes on Sundays.
Our bar offers informal dining ranging from hearty sandwiches made with our own freshly baked bread to Rebellion Ale battered Cornish Cod with hand cut chips or even a traditional champagne afternoon tea. Served either outside on our sunny terrace, in the shade of the trees in our garden, or snuggled in front of a roaring log fire on a winter’s evening. Open daily from 11am to 10pm.
Our Courtyard Room, overlooking the cobbled courtyard, is open for breakfast Monday to Friday from 7 until 10, offering a full continental buffet and a substantial a la carte menu. Weekends are a more informal affair, opening from 7.30 until 10.30 and offering a full hot and cold buffet.
The Courtyard Room can accommodate up to 40 and can be hired for private gatherings and feastings.
We also have our ‘Summer Kitchen’ which offers al fresco dining on our terrace with food cooked on our large coal fired barbecues. This area can be hired for private gatherings and will easily accommodate 40 guests. For larger groups hog roasts can also be arranged.

My Grandma and I came for lunch today to celebrate her 91st Birthday. The staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating. My Grandma is in a wheelchair and they did everything they could to assist with ramps and help me navigate them. A big thank you!
Amersham is one of my absolute favourite places to visit, set right in the heart of The Chiltern Hills. It is quintessentially English and The Crown is a 500 year old coaching inn, in the heart of Old Amerham's High Street.
It is an eclectic mix of antique, given its heritage fused with contemporary furnishings as a modern twist, which works really well. It is a stunning hotel, with a beautiful cobbled courtyard. The food is very tasty with a wide-ranging menu and a wine list to match.
We had a wonderful time there and I can highly recommend it to anyone looking for an excellent spot to stay or eat.
